# Linear gradient

Linear gradient allows you to set colors at multiple points along a specified linear direction, which are then blended to form a gradient on your layer. To add a linear gradient:

* Select the layer and go to the property panel.
* In the 'Fill' section, select the color thumbnail to open up the color picker.
* In the color picker, select the `Linear`tab - the middle tab at the top of the color picker.
* You can now add colours at multiple points on the gradient handle, and adjust the opacity at each point.
