# Auto-animate

Lottielab uses auto-animate by default when in [animate mode.](https://docs.lottielab.com/editor/design-vs-animate-mode#animate-mode) 

This means that you only need to move your [playhead](https://docs.lottielab.com/editor/timeline/playhead-and-controls#playhead) to a point in time, then change any of the layer's [properties](https://docs.lottielab.com/editor/properties) at each point in time to create an animation.
